It comes as a shock to see this strange and beautiful building as you travel through some of the wildest parts of the Yorkshire Dales. When I first it, nearly 50 years ago, it was threatened with demolition. I was delighted when it was saved.
Ribblehead intrigues me - there is a strange atmosphere about this place, which only intensifies when a steam train from another age passes over it.
