Caledonia: Spirit of Place Birch Tree Gallery, Edinburgh 3-31 August 2018
New paintings and prints of Scotland by Ian Scott Massie
I have looked forward to dedicating a whole exhibition to Scotland for many years so I was delighted to be invited to show at The Birch Tree Gallery in Edinburgh for the 2018 Festival Fringe. My father's family home of Aberdeen, my mother's of Edinburgh and my travels around the West Coast have been the impetus behind this work, but it has also allowed me to explore a few places less known to me like the Falkirk Wheel and Jedburgh Abbey.
Caledonia: Spirit of Place opens with preview on Thursday 2nd August 6-8pm at The Birch Tree Gallery, 23A Dundas St, Edinburgh EH3 6QQ. On Saturday 4th August from 10-11 am I'll be talking about my work and reading some of the poetry and prose which has grown out of my life as an artist.
Here are a selection of paintings and prints from the exhibition. All work is for sale from Thursday 2nd August at 6pm. To enquire about purchasing a picture you can contact the Birch Tree Gallery by clicking HERE
